2Crafty Design Team January post

Hello Everyone!

Its my turn over on the 2Crafty blog today.

Here  are my shares

Hello Everyone!

Today my first share is a layout inspired by the gorgeous
January mood board at Scrap Around The World.

"love"

2Crafty Products used:
Frame Handrawn Hearts
Folk Hearts
Leafy Shrub Set 1
Line Words Happiness Borders - love

How Gorgeous are these Handrawn Heart Frames?
I fell in love as soon as I saw these in Vanessa's new releases.
They were immediately on my "MUST have list"
They are even more gorgeous in real life.
I almost didn't want to use them on my layouts,
I just wanted to keep them in my stash and look at them everyday.

After seeing the new mood board at SATW I decided to  add them to my layout.
I used 3 different sizes and overlapped each one and adhered using staples.
I then added gesso randomly with a paint brush.

For my title I used one of the Line Words  Happiness Borders - love
I gave this a light coat of gesso. The love word was painted again and then stamped with a prima stamp using celadon ink.  I adhered a little pearl each side of the word.

I added another gorgeous and delicate piece.... from the Leafy Shrub set 1.
This set contains 3 beautiful pieces. I simply painted this piece with White Kaiser Colour paint.
I tied it onto the frames with embroidery thread and arranged some
flower clusters in a couple of places

Next to this cluster I add a couple of cute little Folk Hearts. Each one was coated with gesso and coloured with versa colour inks - cinnamon and celadon. I added a little pearl to the top.

The gorgeous "Scrap Around the World" Mood Board.

"together"

2Crafty Products used:
Leafy Twig Branches
2014
Mini word Set 1 - enjoy
Chunky Heart
together loopy font

Not many of my layouts are without a heart. These Chunky Hearts are lovely
Each pack contains  6 Hearts, 3 different sizes...... such a fabulous  pack to have in your stash.
I painted this with a very  thin layer of Kaiser Colour paint - antique white.
Once dry I added the sticker on top for some dimension.

2Crafty have so many gorgeous Words/Phrases and Graphic Wordlets.
How many of you find giving your page a title the hardest part?
I know I did until I discovered the numerous selection that 2 Crafty have ....now its so easy!
I love the raw/natural look of this chipboard....together, enjoy and 2014,so decided to
leave it as is and simply adhere it to my page.

I love these Leafy Twig Branches.
Here I removed the cut out piece from the chippie frame and then used the negative piece as a mask.
I added light modelling paste to the negative piece and peeled it back to reveal the leaves.
Once dry I layered the removed leafy twig branch piece over the top  which was painted with white Kaiser colour paint and added a trailing flower cluster.

TIP
I  don't throw out my negative pieces. ......they are great to use as masks.
The pieces that cannot be used as masks etc.  I keep and use them  to help add dimension
under my layers and photos.

I am finishing off this month with a clean and simple page.
2Crafty chipboard is so versatile.

"believe"

2Crafty Products used;
Chevron Bits
Assorted Arrows
 Film Strip-mini
 Xmas mini word pack-believe

I chose a couple of different size Chevron Bits and inked them with Versa Colour Inks, Royal Blue, Cardinal and Marigold, to match the  swimming pool lane ropes,  The Royal Blue pieces were smeared with Atlantic Blue Ink. I used pop dots to adhere and add  some dimension.

The film strip has been painted White and lightly smeared with Royal Blue Versa colour Ink
I selected the Believe word from a Xmas  mini word pack....inked it with Cardinal Versa colour Ink and layered it on a film strip and Chevron Bit.
Believe was used as a  part of my title for this layout....
a message for my little  swim champion,
"Always Believe in Yourself"

I have added a couple of the Assorted Arrows on top of the photos.
Each Arrow has been coloured with Cyan Versa colour Ink.

2Crafty Chipboard is so versatile and I love layering it to add dimension to my layouts.

Well that is all from me for this month.
I hope I have inspired you to add some of this gorgeous product to your next creations.

Beautiful layouts Janice. Hard to pick a favourite, but love the colours in the first two. The sweet photo and hearts intertwining in the top one with the gorgeous flowers . Love the cluster falling down into the torn section of the second one and the softness and the use of the film strip in the last one. Awesome work Janice

Hi Janice, I'm back from holidays and trying to catch up on my favourite blogs. Always get a cuppa before I open yours, so I can take my time and examine each element. Love the heart shapes and the sweet clusters to frame the sweet Bubba. The second one is such an interesting design with the torn papers and trailing leaves. The bold blues, chevrons and ?rubons?stamped words, are great for the masculine action page. Inspirational! TFS

This is such a fabulous post Janice. I just ADORE that first one, such a creative way you have used those chippie hearts. The design of the second one is outstanding, & I love the way you have captured the moment in the third one. FANTASTIC. xo
