Scrap the Boys - January Challenge- Teach Your Kids What Counts Most

The January Challenge is to create a Layout using Numbers.
Here is my take on the challenge.

{Teach Your Kids What Counts Most.}

I stash busted for this layout.
I found an old piece of number paper and used it as a stencil to create the background using white paint. Added some of the fabulous 2Crafty Chipboard pieces, got the old dymo xpress out to add the journaling and lastly to add some colour I used some washi tape.
A pretty simple layout !

I have hand written my journaling on the back of the layout.
We are very proud  of our  boy.
We were told quite often what a great kid he was and how he had many of these qualities in life (the list on the layout) at a young age, and to this day he still has them. and we are still being told what a great lad he is. Might be a bit biased but we are very proud of the young man he has become.

Layered  2Crafty Chippie pieces.
Number Panels, Mini School Year Titles, Mini Family Icons,
Hessian Patch, Mini Fast Forward Arrows, and  Stars.

 The stencilled background.

Thank You once again for taking the time to visit my blog.
I really appreciate your kind  words.
January is a really quiet time at work for me, so I'm making the most of  it and loving that my mojo has returned and that I am able to spend time creating and sharing.
Thanks to those wonderful challenge organizers and their DT for inspiring me to play along.

Guest Designing at Colour Stories Inspiration

I'm thrilled to be Guest designing again for Colour Stories Inspiration
Case File NO. 222

I love the concept of these challenges
The Scheme- use all 5 colours -  You may use neutrals (Black, White, Kraft, Cream, Gray, Brown) to these colours.  Hint: pick a predominant colour and use small amount of the others if you wish.
Evidence- from the list choose 3 or more to include on your page.
Testimony- This is the journaling part. Choose one or more elements for your journaling.
I chose Winter.
This photo of Sarah was taken in  December 2013 when she visited Churchill.
Needless to say it was very cold.
Have fun!!!

The Scheme: All 5 colours used.
I picked white as my predominant colour and added smaller pieces of the other 4 colours.
Click here to be inspired by the DT and GDT members  creations.
Evidence: chevrons, ribbon, bow, glitter, patterned boards, snowflakes

I finished this layout, read and reread my journaling before I printed it out, Cut it out, stuck it on and re read again. Photographed, edited, sent to Debbi and put it aside. A week later I reread it again and noticed a spelling mistake...amazing how the mind reads and misses things.

My Journaling reads-
Its Winter time here in Churchill, and its freezing!!
Yeah its freezing alright...outside for a few minutes and my eyelashes were frozen.
Such an amazing experience. One we will remember for a lifetime.
We stayed at Jen and Gerald's, who own Blue-sky Dog sledding Expeditions.
A few days before Christmas, Gerald took us on a dog sled ride, hunting for a Christmas tree.
We rugged up, put on our coats with big red bows attached to the hats, which is a tradition of theirs whilst tree hunting and away we went. Todays temperature was minus 30. We enjoyed a beautiful white Christmas Day, experienced some incredibly cold days, played in the snow, we spent time feeding and tending to the sled dogs,we saw the Northern lights and we walked along the edge of the Hudson Bay.

Its such a great challenge, you have 2 weeks to plays and upload your layout here for the chance to win some fabulous prizes.

Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comments.

Christmas Card Making December 2016

A big Hello and welcome to my blog.
My scrapping mojo has sadly gone. I am hoping it will return again in 2017 as I have so many great photos and memories I would like to scrap and record for the children.
I have been filling my scrapping void with some card making.

I follow Einat Kessler on Facebook and she did a 12 days of Christmas Cards.
I quite often look at things like this and think I should do that and I never do....really happy I actually finished something that I started. She is a very clever lady and creates some really great stuff.
Each day she shared a new card  with a video tutorial on how to make them.
This is the set of cards, she only made 11.
I changed things a bit to make them my own.
Sorry the photos are not the best.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Wishing you  all the Best for a great 2017.

Today I am sharing this little tag I have made for the
Here is the challenge requirements.
I haven't  created or shared much in awhile now....the mojo seems to have disappeared.
Note to self...start on something small!

When I saw this challenge it inspired me to  delve into my stash and have a play with texture paste, paints, heat gun, Tattered Angels Glimmermists,  Dylusions Ink Spray, Inks, Stamps, washi tape, twine and some 2Crafty Chipboard Balloons.

Although the Chipboard Balloons are only small I did manage to get quite messy!
But most importantly I had lots of fun and love the little tag I have created.

Guest Designing at Kraft+ for June

Today is the 1st of June
and I am here to share a little secret I have been keeping.

I am honoured, excited and  happy to be a

The  June Challenge:
"the puzzle"
"Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces" on your Kraft Project

Click here to  go to the Kraft Plus blog, read the rules and see the AMAZING inspirational projects that the talented Design Team have created.
I'm sure you will feel inspired to create.

Here's the challenge

here is what I made.
 {fixing your iPhone piece by piece}

When Sandra asked me if I would like to be a Guest Designer and the challenge was to use
Jigsaw Puzzle pieces I jumped at the chance.
I have always been a jigsaw lover and made many a jigsaw puzzle in my time.
I wanted  to think outside the box and create something a little different.
I had a few ideas in mind and tried them, but nothing seemed to be working...until.... 3o'clock one morning I woke up and had this most amazing thing was to now get back to sleep till the morning and then try to get that idea from my head onto paper...sometimes easier said than done for me!
Going through my printed photo pile next morning, I saw this photo of Matthew and thought it would be perfect for what I had in mind.
Matthew  broke/smashed the screen on his iPhone and decided to purchase another one and replace it by himself.  He is very handy with his hands. The new screen arrives....piece by piece he took the broken screen off,  there were so many pieces, and such tiny piece's...I didn't think he would ever get it back together and working again. To his credit and with the help of google he persevered and eventually  got each piece back  and now has a working phone. A happy boy!
Hence all the little jigsaw puzzle pieces represent all the little iPhone pieces he had  laying around and had to replace.
I adhered all the pieces with a spray glue.
The bigger  jigsaw pieces are 2Crafty Chipboard products.

Thank so much for stopping by!
Remember if you create something  for Kraft+,  share on the Kraft+ Facebook page and/or add your page to the  Kraft+ blog to be in the running to win a prize from one of the wonderful sponsors.
I look forward to seeing what everyone creates and shares this month.

More Than Words Mini May Challenge - "Time To Celebrate"

Hello to all my Scrappy Friends and to my new followers!

Today I have played along with the Mini  More Than Words May Challenge.
More Than Words have a monthly Mini Challenge  which runs on the last week  of each month and is for cards, tags and ATC's only. The challenge requires you to used a specific word on your project. They must be able to see the word....this month the word is "TIME". I am just getting this is on time....hehehe. Entry for this challenge is via Facebook only.

Here is a tag I made....ready to tie on my Mums Birthday present.

Having a play and trying my hand at a bit of mixed media.
I admire so many of the mixed media artists, (who by the way make it look so easy), and I have always wanted to give it a go. I have tried a few times without success but was really happy with how my little tag turned out. Note to on something small to start with.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look.
Thanks also for the many lovely comments you leave.

Kraft Plus May time

Hello to all my Scrappy friends!
You can see that I haven't been scrapping for awhile......I am a daytime scrapper so working full time sadly doesn't
allow much  scrapping time for me!
With the rainy, wet and windy weekend, I had a couple of enjoyable days sitting and scrapping!

Kraft Plus have another amazing challenge this month
.....the challenge is to be inspired by ?
image inspiration + your creativity.

I was inspired to create this layout.

{"drive time"}

After looking at the image,
I looked through my photo pile and saw this photo of Sarah first learning to drive.
Yeah that is what I would do...and this is what I came up with.
I hope it fits the challenge. I was also inspired by the circles and the grungy/messy background.

The Challenge looks like this!

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to stop by!
Your lovely comments  are always much appreciated.

Enjoy your weekend!
