the swimming pool

Its time for another fantastic monthly challenge
with a fabulous Page Drafts sketch over at Paper Stories
{the swimming Pool}

The sketch

I have decided to try a few new techniques on my layouts this month,
Not sure where I saw this,
but loved the idea of using mod podge and a  piece of print paper
to transfer the print paper onto your  background..
it wasnt that east though,.
I did get a little bit transferred but I ended up
peeling my actual background paper away revealing the white....grrrrr.
.... I still love the idea and will give it another try later.

I feel very lucky to have so many wonderful online scrappy friends
and I really appreciate you stopping by and  leaving me such lovely comments.
Thank you.

Janice xx

Hey Janice, knew that you would give this one a go again since you were one of the winners last month, hehehe, clever you!
Gorgeous take on the challenge, you am sure you will get the hang of transfer very soon, practice makes perfect! Thanks again for the award and I will try to pass it on very soon :)

Yep, image transfer is great - it's just practice & getting the 'feel' for it...so give it another go! Use stiff rather than 'floppy' newsprint if you can - that helps....LOVE this & you're brave...I'm not too keen about cutting up a photo!!!! Good on you:):):)

Love the idea of giving something new a crack ;)

the corrugated cardboard really stands out on this one.
and the pic cut in thirds. clever thing

You do the beach scene so well Janice...I can almost feel the sand between my toes. Good job with the newsprint transfer.....that's on my list of things to try too :)

Love your beachy layout, it perfectly complements that stunning photo! Well done on the image transfer! I've some futile attempts at it with gel medium but haven't braved it on a layout yet!

Another gorgeous layout! Love the photo and the colours and details you've used! Great to see you joining us again at Paper Stories!
PS: I've tried the transfer technique as well but wasn't successful either on my first attempt. When it worked for me, I used a thicker layer of mod podge, used my brayer to roll over it, then waited for just a slight moment before lifting the paper. I think it's trial and error and dependent on the paper you use though. Good-luck with another go!
