My March DT shares ot 2Crafty Chipboard

Hello my Scrappy Friends.
Today it is my turn to share 3 Design Team layouts over on the

My first share is a layout  I created  for the new Kraft Plus challenge blog.
A very clean and simple layout with lots of layering and a few of my favourite chippie pieces.

 "Capture"

2Crafty Chipboard Products Used:
Handrawn Heart
Frames Tiny Kathleen's
Mini Word Set 1 - capture

This was the gorgeous colour challenge - mango breeze

The chipboard is just gorgeous simply left raw and layered.
I  used gold Versa colour and  inked capture and the outside piece of the
Tiny Kathleen Frame.

 My 2nd Share is called......
"Cricket"
Redbacks visit Cummins

 2Crafty Chipboard Products Used:
Fiddlesticks Panel
6'x6' themed sheets-cricket
Cricket Player

My boy just loves his cricket and when I saw this pack of cricket  words I
knew they  would be perfect for my cricket layouts.
The Cricket Player I snipped apart,  then white embossed the player and added some
pencil lines for definition and inked his helmet blue....Matthew always wore a blue helmet.
The stumps /wickets were inked with vanilla and sand beige colours.

How cool is this for a title.
CRICKET
Simply inked red.  I outlined the edges with black and then outlined the word
with a black pen.
He played his junior cricket for the Cummins Redbacks

The Fiddlesticks Panel was perfect for the base of my photo.
I cut away the outside piece of this panel so it resembled a spider web, and simply
inked it with black ink and tucked it under the photo.

.....and my 3rd layout for this month
is called.....

 "Happy Birthday"

 2Crafty Chipboard Products:
Happy Birthday- Birthday Sentiments
Candles
Circles
Assorted Polaroid Frames
ATC Tiny Hearts & Stars-Hearts

Having a play.....
A mixed media background using  modeling paste, stencils, rub-ons and my
 first play with some Gelatos.
Each piece of chippie- the Frame, circles, and candles was coloured with the gelatos.

The candles were coloured with gelatos.
I used a Crafters Workshop Template and some light modeling paste
to add the wax dribbles on each candle.

Happy Birthday was coloured with gelatos.
I have scattered some ATC Tiny Hearts around my layout.

Vanessa has just released some gorgeous new 2Crafty chipboard pieces.
Pop over and have a look.
We would love you to share your 2 Crafty creations on our Facebook page.
Thanks for stopping by.
Your lovely comments are always much appreciated.

February Sketch - the Scrapbook store- super kid

Hello!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

This is my take on the February sketch over at

I have been watching Di Garling's video tutorials and absolutely love what she creates.
She is very talented and creates the most gorgeous work. Click on the link to see her work.

I decided I would give the MM thingo a try
.....and  this is the result.
It is much harder than it looks on Dis videos.

I gessoed the background, used the negative piece of the 2Crafty alpha set as a stencil and sprayed  with  Glmmermist to create my background. I  adhered all the spare 2Crafty Alphas, gessoed over them and sprayed randomly with mist and water then dried with my heat gun.  I randomly stamped over the Alphas and 2Crafty circle pieces.
Hmmmm MM background finished....I'm not sure I like it.
I've  decided I'm Janice of all styles...Master of none.
But I did enjoy having a play.
I have used several fabulous 2 Crafty Chipboard piece

This is the fabulous sketch.

Thank you to those of you who do stop by and take the time to leave me a lovely comment.
Each one is read and truly appreciated.
Hope you all have a great day.

First Kraft Plus - K+ - mango breeze colour challenge

Hello Everyone!

K+ is a brand new blog, founded by the talented Sandra Wallace.

I remember Sandra visiting one day and telling me that she had this idea in her head about starting up a new challenge blog. We talked for quite awhile....well I actually listened quite a bit.  Sometimes we often get these ideas but that's all it is, an idea in your head. I could tell she was really  passionate, driven and excited about it and I wasn't at all surprised when  a week later she told me it was actually going to happen.
Congratulations Sandra.

Here is the first colour challenge-mango breeze
Doesn't it look fantastic!

When the first challenge popped up it looked gorgeous.
A colour challenge!!!! Eeek! I will admit colours scare me...not sure why...they just do.
But a Challenge is exactly that ....its a challenge, and I wanted to play along.
.......
After sitting, planning, moving, shuffling, reshuffling, going around in circles for 2 days, and determined it wasn't going to get the better of me,
 this is what I made.
{capture}

Thanks for the opportunity to play along.
I had fun!

Thanks for stopping by.

2Crafty Design Team January post

Hello Everyone!

Its my turn over on the 2Crafty blog today.

Here  are my shares

Hello Everyone!

Today my first share is a layout inspired by the gorgeous
January mood board at Scrap Around The World.

"love"

2Crafty Products used:
Frame Handrawn Hearts
Folk Hearts
Leafy Shrub Set 1
Line Words Happiness Borders - love

How Gorgeous are these Handrawn Heart Frames?
I fell in love as soon as I saw these in Vanessa's new releases.
They were immediately on my "MUST have list"
They are even more gorgeous in real life.
I almost didn't want to use them on my layouts,
I just wanted to keep them in my stash and look at them everyday.

After seeing the new mood board at SATW I decided to  add them to my layout.
I used 3 different sizes and overlapped each one and adhered using staples.
I then added gesso randomly with a paint brush.

For my title I used one of the Line Words  Happiness Borders - love
I gave this a light coat of gesso. The love word was painted again and then stamped with a prima stamp using celadon ink.  I adhered a little pearl each side of the word.

I added another gorgeous and delicate piece.... from the Leafy Shrub set 1.
This set contains 3 beautiful pieces. I simply painted this piece with White Kaiser Colour paint.
I tied it onto the frames with embroidery thread and arranged some
flower clusters in a couple of places

Next to this cluster I add a couple of cute little Folk Hearts. Each one was coated with gesso and coloured with versa colour inks - cinnamon and celadon. I added a little pearl to the top.

The gorgeous "Scrap Around the World" Mood Board.

"together"

2Crafty Products used:
Leafy Twig Branches
2014
Mini word Set 1 - enjoy
Chunky Heart
together loopy font

Not many of my layouts are without a heart. These Chunky Hearts are lovely
Each pack contains  6 Hearts, 3 different sizes...... such a fabulous  pack to have in your stash.
I painted this with a very  thin layer of Kaiser Colour paint - antique white.
Once dry I added the sticker on top for some dimension.

2Crafty have so many gorgeous Words/Phrases and Graphic Wordlets.
How many of you find giving your page a title the hardest part?
I know I did until I discovered the numerous selection that 2 Crafty have ....now its so easy!
I love the raw/natural look of this chipboard....together, enjoy and 2014,so decided to
leave it as is and simply adhere it to my page.

I love these Leafy Twig Branches.
Here I removed the cut out piece from the chippie frame and then used the negative piece as a mask.
I added light modelling paste to the negative piece and peeled it back to reveal the leaves.
Once dry I layered the removed leafy twig branch piece over the top  which was painted with white Kaiser colour paint and added a trailing flower cluster.

TIP
I  don't throw out my negative pieces. ......they are great to use as masks.
The pieces that cannot be used as masks etc.  I keep and use them  to help add dimension
under my layers and photos.

I am finishing off this month with a clean and simple page.
2Crafty chipboard is so versatile.

"believe"

2Crafty Products used;
Chevron Bits
Assorted Arrows
 Film Strip-mini
 Xmas mini word pack-believe

I chose a couple of different size Chevron Bits and inked them with Versa Colour Inks, Royal Blue, Cardinal and Marigold, to match the  swimming pool lane ropes,  The Royal Blue pieces were smeared with Atlantic Blue Ink. I used pop dots to adhere and add  some dimension.

The film strip has been painted White and lightly smeared with Royal Blue Versa colour Ink
I selected the Believe word from a Xmas  mini word pack....inked it with Cardinal Versa colour Ink and layered it on a film strip and Chevron Bit.
Believe was used as a  part of my title for this layout....
a message for my little  swim champion,
"Always Believe in Yourself"

I have added a couple of the Assorted Arrows on top of the photos.
Each Arrow has been coloured with Cyan Versa colour Ink.

2Crafty Chipboard is so versatile and I love layering it to add dimension to my layouts.

Well that is all from me for this month.
I hope I have inspired you to add some of this gorgeous product to your next creations.
I will be back in March to share my next creations.
