CSI Case File No. 170 - White Water World

Hello my scrappy friends.
Its has  been quite awhile since I played along over at Colour, Stories and Inspiration.
I was looking for a challenge this weekend and thought I would have a play along with No. 170.
One of the reason I started with CSI was because of the journaling aspect. A lot of my pages only contain a title, not much for those looking back on it in years to come....and scrapbooking is all about the memories and having a bit of creative fun. When I saw these colours I knew I had a photo already printed ...not the size I normally scrap with but   why print another photo when you already have one....so I decided to work with this size. I did find it challenging though and almost gave up.
Here is the challenge.

 This is what I made.
{White Water World}

This is how I solved the Case File-
The Scheme - use all 5 Colours - lime green, blue, white, bright red and bright sky blue.
Evidence - Stripes, triangles, banners, arrows, solid brads, flairs, stars & metal.
Testimony -  Write a Top 10 list.   this journaling is stuck to the back of the layout.
1. We were all feeling very excited for our trip today.’White Water World’ here we come.
Day 3 -The day was just perfect…the sun was shining for us.
2. Upon arrival you jumped out of the car and grabbed your bags.
Then we joined the long queue and waited to get in.
3. You were so excited. You had the biggest smile and was eager to jump on a ride.
4. We are in……“Come on Dad” are you ready yet?
First ride – ‘Super Tubes, Hydro Coaster’….’The Green Room’.
You loved this is one.
 Then ,’The Bro’,
‘The Rip’,
‘Caves of Waves’,
‘Temple of Hueys’,
 and’ The little Rippers’.
All so much fun and   filled with thrilling twists and turns, high speeds and being swept away.
5. You went back to ‘The Super Tubes, Hydro Coaster’ – ‘The Green Room’.
You remember this ride the most, no lines ups, so you were no sooner at the bottom and you were up the steps and being swept down again.
6. You had so much fun and loved every minute of it.
7. Matthew is a water baby so loves anything to do with water.
8. You noticed all the lifeguards and thought that would be a good job and probably  something you could do when you left school or even do as a holiday job.
9. Mum sat and watched, took photos and videoed us from the biggest row of chairs in front
of this cool place called ‘The Shack’.
10. I will come back here one day.
April 2008 - 13 years old
I also added some journaling to the tag tucked in behind the photo

White Water World
It’s a water ride park.
Rides for the Thrill Seekers
‘Super Tubes’ – ‘The Green Room’
‘The Bro’
‘The Rip’
‘Temple of Hueys’
‘Little Rippers’
and
‘The Cave of Waves’
So much FUN
Thank you CSI  & Debbi Tehrani for such awesome challenges and for getting me to journal again. Thanks also to the wonderful DT for their amazing inspiration.
You can see this is an old photo, (2008) but its so nice to get them out and relive all the wonderful times we had and the memories we have.
Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may leave.
 Love
Janice xx

This  is such a huge thrill.
Thank you CSI for choosing my layout as
Tell Your Story. It's our tagline, and here at CSI, it's one of our missions to get our members to delve deeper into journaling--to document the meaningful bits and pieces that make up our lives. We would like to shine a special spotlight each week on a member who did an exceptional job telling their story. Click here to see an archive of all our Star Witnesses.
Janice brings this theme park to life through her 13-year-old son's words. We love that she interviewed him to create the top ten list and that she even included additional journaling behind the photo with that awesome shaggy fiber that adds a whimsical touch to her super-fun, bold, happy page!.
 Doing a happy dance.

Thanks Card

Hello my Scrappy Friends!

Today I am sharing with you another card.

I was asked to make a big card for a special lady who is leaving work soon.
She is really loved at work and is going to be really missed.
I have included lots of pages and a couple of pockets with tags for all the staff to write their messages on. They are also going to tuck some photos into the pockets.
I hope the special lady likes it.

Hope you are having a great day.
Love
Janice

Kraft Plus July Challenge - goodtimes

Hello!

The new Kraft Plus challenge is up.
A Mustard Explosion!

The criteria:
Use Kraft as your background
Draw inspiration from the photo
and
Use yellow paint on your layout

My first thoughts when I saw this challenge.....

Eeekkkk - What!!!!! A Mustard Explosion - use Yellow paint on your layout.
Now what am I going to do???
Yellow is a colour I  rarely scrap with and paint is  not something I use much of either.
Now this is going to be a challenge for me.
But I love a challenge.

After much thought and a look at the Kraft Plus DT's brilliant and inspirational layouts, I had an idea in my head....it was just a matter of getting it from there to the Kraft Paper,
( sometimes easier said than done for me.)

After looking closely at the photo, and past the mustard explosion, a few things inspired me.
 1. My eyes were immediately drawn to  the White Heart. Hearts are my scrapbooking trademark - almost every layout of mine has a heart of some sort on it. Yes I would use white hearts.
2. The depth and layers in the photo, I love adding layers on a layout. I would do that.
3. A touch of yellow paint  here and there would work best for me.
The challenge says to use yellow paint, it doesn't say how much,so that is entirely up to you.
Okay, I think I can do that.
4. I also spotted a roll of twine. I am loving twine and thread at the moment so yes I would  use that somewhere on my layout.
AND
Amanda Hall's layout really inspired me.
I loved her idea of using chipboard  and  layering chipboard  elements to the
 background of her layout

Here is what I made.

My time on the 2Crafty Chipboard Design Team had just ended and I have a huge stash of this gorgeous chippie left over, so when I saw Amanda's idea  I  decided to add layers and layers of chippie pieces to my background.
I painted each piece of chippie with yellow paint and  the Chippie Hearts were painted white.
This isn't exactly what I had in my head, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
Thanks Amanda  for your inspiration.
Thanks Kraft + for a fun challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and having a  look at my work.
Your lovely comments are always much appreciated. Thank You.

included the gorgeous 2Crafty chipboard Gymnastics Graphic Wordlet .

"Gymnastics...be positive"

Graphic Wordlet - Gymnastics

Sarah loved her gymnastics as a young girl.

2Crafty makes adding a title to your layout so easy....this was just perfect for my photo and layout.
Thank you 2 Crafty, so many of my creations feature chippie titles.
Pop over and check out their long list of Individual Words/Phrases and Graphic Wordlets.

My trade mark Funky Heart.
Simply coloured with gelatos and  layered with an acetate heart.

This Gymnastics   Graphic  wordlet was coloured with Gelatos and Black Ink

My last Design Team Post for 2Crafty Chipboard

Hello Everyone!
This is part 2 of my last Design Team post for 2Crafty.

My 2nd  share is ....

"Congratulations"

2Crafty Chipboard Products used;
Esther Vine
Fanciful Butterfly
Card ATC Embellishments
Card /Invitations
Card Sentiments - Congratulations

These Fanciful Butterflies are gorgeous.
Eight pieces per pack and 3 different sizes.
I added the pattern by putting the chippie butterfly into an embossing folder
and running it through my Cuttlebug.
To add the colour I first  rubbed on some light purple gelato, added some water
and using my fingers rubbed it to cover it all. Once it had dried I chose the
dark purple  gelato and ran it over the raised embossed pieces. I loved the effect.

A close up of the gorgeous Esther Vine.

Now this piece is  simply gorgeous
I used the Esther Vine to frame my photo.
I used 2 purple  gelatos and some water to colour  this stunning and delicate flourish.

I chose Congratulations from the Card  Sentiment Pack  fo
Sarah's 21st  Birthday layout
Gelatos were used to colour the chippie sentiment.
Check out this amazing chippie piece at 2Crafty, under the 6x6  themed section.
There are so many to choose from.

Thanks for stopping by.

My last Design Team Post at 2 Crafty Chipboard

Hello Everyone!
2Crafty Design Team June Shares.

Hello Everyone, Janice here with you today.
Sadly this is my last post as a 2Crafty Design Team member.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my 2Crafty journey.
Creating with this gorgeous chipboard and being amongst such an
amazing team of talented girls has been  a dream come true  for me.
Thank you Vanessa and Di for having me on the team.
My first share  is called.....
"a moment CAPTURED"

 2Crafty Chipboard Products used:
Funky Hearts
a moment CAPTURED
Mini Trees
Grass Clumps

I love these mini trees and the grass clumps have always been a favourite piece of mine.
The mini tree was left raw and inked with several layers of bronze Versa colour ink.
I  smeared gesso onto some of the leaves.
The grass clump was inked with lots of different coloured
Tim Holtz distress inks and touches of gesso.

This is one of the special moments Jayde Norwood captured during a recent photo
shoot for my daughter's engagement.
This Chippie title  "a moment CAPTURED" was just perfect. It was coloured with
Bronze and Gold versa colour inks.
The blend of the colours  matched the paper really well.

Every layout of mine has my trade mark,  a "Heart".
I love these Funky Hearts, this was simply inked with Gold ink.
It was adhered using a pop dot to add some dimension and to be able to tuck
elements underneath and around it - the flower, paper layers and beads.

It has been an honour and a privilege to create with these amazing 2Crafty Chipboard
products and to be a part of such a wonderful team of inspirational scrappers.
I am ever so grateful for the opportunity.
Thanks again Vanessa and Di for everything.

Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may leave.

 Love
Janice
