Part 2 of my March DT work at 2Crafty

Hello All!
Today I am sharing part 2 of my March Design Team work at

{you}

I loved this grungy look Kaisercraft paper.
I had  fun creating this page, adding lots of inks and mists to alter the chippie pieces.

"you loopy font"
"2013's"
"Gears"

I love these loopy font words that 2Crafty have. Just perfect for your page title.
"you"- I inked this with cyan versa colour ink.
I used the "negative piece" from the "Gears" and coloured it the same way as
the "Gears" and used it as a mat under my photo.

The "Gears" and "2013" date were all covered with a light coat of gesso, then covered
with Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Mr Huey's Mists and Tattered Angels Glimmermists
and dried with a heat gun.
I inked up a grungy Kaisercraft stamp with Black ink and stamped randomly over all the pieces.

The "Gears", showing all the different colours and patterns.

Thank you for stopping by.
I hope I have inspired you to get some 2Crafty Chipboard on your next layout.

My Design Team post is up at 2Crafty today

 Hello Everyone!

My 2Crafty Design Team post it up today.
Pop over to the blog to see more
This is the first of my three layouts.

Janice here with you today to share my latest projects
all featuring some gorgeous 2Crafty Chipboard.
The best thing about chipboard is its versatility.
My shares today include a  pretty girls page, a grungy boys page and a vintage page.

{Happy}
Happy
I started with some beautiful Pink Paislee paper and added lots of  gorgeous
 2Crafty chippie.
"Tiny Leaf Stems"
"Mixed Buttons"
"Friendship mimi words-Happy"
"Doily Border"
"Plain Triangles"
"ATC Butterflies"

I covered each "Plain Triangle" with patterned paper, and then using embroidery thread
I joined them all together and formed the hexagon shape.

I added texture paste to the "Tiny Leaf Stems"
with my fingertips,  once dry I coloured them with inks.

The  "Mixed Button" was covered the same way and then sewn with
embroidery thread leaving lots of long wispy threads.

Lots and lots of layers. I have used pop up dots to add dimension.

Two more of the "Plain Triangles" covered in patterned paper
and sewn together with embroidery thread.

This formed the base for my title  "Happy" from the "Friendship mini Words".
"Happy" was coated in texture paste and coloured with Cinnamon versa colour ink.

Don't ever discard any of your chippie off cuts,
this little left over "Doily Border" piece was just perfect, and fitted in here so well.
It was covered with texture paste and coloured with Cinnamon versa colour ink.

These little "ATC Butterflies" are just Gorgeous. I have added 3 to my page,
all have been covered with texture paste and inked with different coloured inks.
I will be back tomorrow to share my next layout
Thanks for stopping by!

CSI No.109 Story time

Hello Everyone!
This is how I solved Case No 109 over at CSI.
{Story time}
This photo popped into my mind as soon as I saw this case. I know its an oldie, but I love it.
Its not the best photo, but scrapbooking  is not always about the perfect photo, its about the memory.
My  Dad reading a bedtime story to his grandies.

How I solved it

The Scheme-  all 5 colours.
The Evidence- book pages, make a little book, silver accents, stack something (paper layers).
The Testimony- Journal about reading.
The journaling-
The memory capture her is so special....I love it!.
My Dad, reading the kids a bed time story.
Not sure that Matthew is actually listening but he looks pretty happy to be there.
Sarah has always loved books and reading.
Her Birthday gift has always included a book of some description.
A weekend visit from Gran & Pa was always pretty special.
They loved to jump into bed with their Pa and listen to him read them a bed time story.
The little Golden Rule Books were a favourite.
Short stories and easy to read with lots of pictures.
He could even skip a page or two and no one noticed.
Story finished...time for bed now kids.
Thanks Pa and Goodnight.
We love you.

February at Scrap the Boys- Special to me.

Hi Everyone!
I Love this photo taken of Matthew with his Gran & Pa at his 18th Birthday.
Just perfect for the
Scrap your boy and someone special in their life

{Special to me!}
To make the photo matt I have layered several strips of different washi tapes,
cut and glued small strips of Hambly Screen Print transparency pieces, added rub-ons, drawn black pen lines and stitched with red cotton.
The journaling-You are Special to me and I Love you.
Thanks for all you do Gran & Pa.
Pa has a wicked sense of humour and loves to tell jokes and
he has taught me some good lessons in life.
Gran is kind, gentle and an awesome cook......
she whipped up this beautiful chocolate sponge  for me for my 18th Birthday.  Yummo!

I have written the Chocolate Sponge Recipe on the back of this layout.

You are all amazing people to leave me such  beautiful and thoughtful comments.
Thank you all so, so much!

today 11.10.1958

Hello Everyone!
I have been playing along with the new case file No. S365 challenge over at CSI
{today}

This is a photo taken of my parents on their wedding day.
There were not many photos taken so I treasure this memory captured of them on their special day.
They share a true love that has lasted a lifetime...recently celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary.
This is how I solved the case:
The scheme: I have used all 5 colours....some more evident than others.
Evidence: flowers, jewels, fabric, decorative border, lace & stamps.
Testimony: journal about a wedding...as above.
I have hand written more private journaling on the back of the layout.
*********************

I have also added lots of Beautiful 2Crafty chipboard.

Here is my share

Hello and welcome to the 2Crafty blog.
Today it is my turn to share 3 new layouts.
They all feature a gorgeous 2Crafty chipboard title.

{love}
On every layout we find ourselves needing a title.

2Crafty make that easy....pop over here to see the huge range of  Graphic Wordlets,
  Words and Phrases they have.
I am sure you will find something to match your layouts in no time at all.
I love the loopy font love word and it matched my love themed  layout perfectly.

I placed the word  love on top of the photo and the loop on the "l" draws
attention  to the couple in the photo.

Sometimes leaving the chipboard with no colour can be just as effective as colouring
them with paints or inks.
Love the raw chippie...perfect and so easy to add to your projects.
Embroidery thread was used to stitch the love title to my layout.

There is stacks of love here so I  decided to add a little stack of Hearts
Funky Hearts and ATC Hearts.

Two hearts have been inked with Versa Colour Pinecone ink
and two have been painted with  Tim Holtz Ranger
 Distress Crackle Paint- Peeled Paint.

Adding a date to your projects  is always important and these
 2Crafty date are just fantastic.
2013 is inked with versa colour Pinecone Ink
and sewn on with embroidery thread.

******************************************
My 2nd layout

{beautiful}
A favourite photo of mine taken for  my daughters 21st Birthday.
I have surrounded it with lots of gorgeous 2Crafty chippie pieces.

These dandelions are simply gorgeous.
Coloured using Black Versa Fine Ink, and adhered using pop dots for dimension and layering.
I have tied the stems together with some white embroidery thread and a strip of
 black organza ribbon.

beautiful loopy font title.
I inked the back of the word with Black ink and stamped it onto my layout and when I stuck  beautiful  down I slightly off set it so you could see the lightly stamped image.

2Crafty chippie looks great layered up.
Here I have used a piece of Chicken Wire Panel,  and I layered  the beautiful loopy font
title over it and a  chipboard button covered in black & white washi tape adds another layer.

My little trademark Heart. again....  A Funky Heart Covered with Ranger  Distress
Crackle paint.-Picket Fence. Another Chippie Button covered with pink polka dot washi tape
and sewn on with white embroidery thread.

This little cluster includes  the 2013  date, a chippie button and a flower.

****************************************
My 3rd  layout.

{just the 3 of US}

I created this layout for a Colour Stories Inspiration challenge a few week ago.
I don't like my photo taken. I am usually the one taking the photos. It was really nice
to have these family photos taken and I think it is important that we step out
from behind the camera and get in there with them.
"Like the branches on a tree,
we will all grow in our own different direction.
But our roots will remain as ONE and hold us together."
Case File No.101.

Look what I found  in the 2Crafty Words and Phrases...  it really is that easy.
I hope you have a look, I am sure you will find something that suits your every needs.
I love the mix of fonts in this gorgeous title. I highlighted the number 3 with a black pen.

Being an outdoors photo amongst the big gum trees, these  Summer Leaf Stems
were just perfect for my layout. I  placed each of the pieces in an embossing folder
and ran them through my Cuttlebug to emboss the pattern onto the leaves.

I inked the stems with Versa colour Ink-Pinecone and inked the leaves
with Laurel Leaf  and Olive. I have layered together 3 different size pieces

Summer Leaf Stems
A close up showing the embossing and layering.

Another Heart....Love these Funky Hearts.
I embossed the heart with a heart embossing mat
and wrapped it with lots  of green embroidery thread.
*****************************************************
