White With 1 - remember Miss Sub Junior Show Girl

Hello!

Blue is a favourite colour of mine...so when I saw the  White with 1 challenge,  I had to play along.  They have also included a Page Maps sketch to inspire us.

"Blue Jeans"

The sketch

I rotated it

and this is my layout

{remember Miss Sub Junior Show Girl}

I have long admired Mixed Media artists. Their work is outstanding. I have watched numerous video tutorials and they make it look so easy. I have tried and tried but just cannot  seem to get it to look any good. I  have got a lot of really old products in my stash and as I'm stash busting thought I would give it another try and use  up  some of my  texture paste, and mists. The first page ended up in the bin. This is my 2nd attempt....  its okay plenty of room for improvement.. Gesso background, Crafters Workshop Stencil, Texture paste, TA Glimmermist, Versa Colour inks and stamps.
I have journaled on the back about my beautiful  little girl winning Miss Sub Junior Show Girl, even with a black eye.

A closer look at  the flower cluster and  gorgeous 2Crafty chippie pieces.

  Showing some of the background details and layers.

 The title is a 2Crafty chippie word - remember

Thank you so much for stopping by again this month.
I appreciated your  beautiful comments.

More Than Words -together

Hello my scrappy friends.

Word Inspiration - TOGETHER
Creative Challenge - AMPERSAND

What does the word TOGETHER inspire you to create?
You can choose to add the word somewhere on your project or simply
be inspired to create from it.

February is known to be the month of love throughout the world
and we want to celebrate this special month by focusing on the symbol
that brings us together, that connects us to one another... the logo of unity.
This symbol is called an AMPERSAND "&" and we would love to see
how you will use it on your project.
 Here is my take.

{together}

The month of love...I couldn't go past this gorgeous engagement photo
  taken by Jade Norwood Photography for this challenge.

 "together" is a 2Crafty Chipboard word...the set of words  are gorgeous ...I love them.
I layered this  along with some chippie arrows over  old Rub-ons from my stash.

  A close up of the different Rub-Ons and 2Crafty Chipboard hearts.

I used several different Rub-ons to create the layers along with torn paper strips and chippie pieces.

My  Ampersand.
You & Me

 Looks greyish but is made on a pieces of white cardstock.
You can see by looking at all my layouts for this month,
 I have a go at everything...don't really have a particular style...it all depends on the photo I use.

More stash busting... I'm slowly using up bits and pieces  :)

Thank you so much for stopping by.
Your beautiful comments are truly appreciated.

Scrapbooking Top 50 - love

 Hello!
Their challenge  for February is this super easy sketch. Use it how you like, flip it, flop it, turn it around, just make sure they can see the bones of the sketch in your page!

This is my first time playing along with a challenge here.
This is my take.

{love}

 Wish I could photograph layouts on white cardstock better. This is made on a white piece of cardstock not grey.  If you have any hints or tips  on how you do it, I would love to hear them please.

 A closer look at the flower cluster - stash busting again.

 love this big 2Crafty chipboard word.

 I love reading your comments,
so Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to leave a message for me.

Enjoy your weekend.

Dusty Attic - you make me so happy

Hello!

Look at this gorgeous Mood Pallet and Sketch that Dusty Attic have for their February Challenge

You can use the sketch and or the Mood Pallet!

Here is my interpretation.
I have used both the Mood Pallet and sketch.

{you make me so happy}

You were a bit spoilt  and probably got way too many Easter Eggs, but I  wanted to carry  on the tradition that my Mum did for us as kids.  We found Easter Eggs in our straw nests  over 3 days. Both sets of grandparents gave Mum eggs for us and she  hid then and put them in the nests  on 2 days  and the Easter Bunny filled our nests on Easter Sunday. We were spoilt as kids too!
Easter Time 2000.
Pa bagged the straw from the farm and dropped it off just before Easter for you to  make your big  nests. Mums flower garden seemed to be the best spot. It was always such an exciting time....awake early, you would grab  Matthew and head outside for a look... and of course The Easter Bunny  had spilt a few little ones along the way.  Watching you bursting with excitement, and  listening to your little squeals of delight  was wonderful. You were always thankful for what you got and shared the little ones out so you both had the same. Quite often it was chocolate for breakfast....a great way to start the day!

A close up showing some of the gorgeous Dusty Attic Chipboard pieces.
 I have used Polaroid frames.....I chose to add patterned paper to 3 of then instead of photos......that's the beauty of  creating with a sketch you can interpret it to suit your style and I layered pieces of  this gorgeous Wildflower #3 on top

Showing more of the layers and details. Here I have used a pieces of the gorgeous Vine Border. If you have a large  chippie piece don't be afraid to snip it up  to make it smaller and add it to clusters etc.. Chipboard is so versatile.

The Challenge has a amazing prize of a $100 Dusty Attic Gift Voucher to the  Dusty Attic Website  for the winner. To enter all you need to do, is use the Mood Board OR the sketch OR both for Inspiration,  you can interpret it anyway you like. The only requirement is that Dusty Attic chipboard is used in your creation. Once completed simply add your link to the right side of the bar of the Dusty Attic Blog...

 I have been very lucky to have had time to get into my scrap room and have a play.
Mr Mojo is still here at the moment and I hope it stays around for awhile.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy creating!

Scrap The Girls - Our beautiful little Girl started kindy today

Hello!
 A multi photo sketch is the awesome February challenge at

The sketch looks like this.

I flipped it to look like this.
The thing I love about a sketch is its a great starting point and you can interpret it to suit your own style. There are 4 spots for photos but I chose to use 2.
Here is my take

{Our Beautiful Little Girl started kindy today}

Journaling on the back reads:
 I remember this day so clearly ...both of us feeling a little anxious about it all.
 We went in and after talking to the teachers, finding places for your bag, lunch etc. you  were instantly  drawn to another little girl. As I left you were happily playing. I remember driving to the shopping  plaza with Matthew with a few tears in my eyes. We  called in to see Dad at work and shopped for awhile, whilst  all the time, I was clock watching and hoping the time would tick over  fast so I could return and pick you up. I walked in to see a big group of kids happily sitting on the floor...it was story time. You looked up and gave me the biggest smile.  I'm sure you were happy to see us as we were you. Saying goodbye to everyone, we made our way home and you talked  and talked about all the fun things you did.
You had a great day and made lots of new friends. It was the start  of new beginnings.
"Spread your wings and fly little girl."

 A close up of some of the details.
A favourite of mine is this 2Crafty Chipboard Heart, a little chippie girl and some butterflies to tell Sarah to spread her wings and fly, to sparkle and shine and  she has done just that!

Reflecting back on the day Sarah started, she was so little, look at her under the kindy sign...face screwed up because the sun was in her eyes, (I  didn't know that till I had it printed out),  again not the perfect photo but the memories are there.

Stash busting again.!

Thank you for stopping by and for leaving a comment. I really appreciate  and love  reading them.

Scrap The Boys - you love riding your bike

Hello!

Check out the fabulous  February challenge over at

Here is Matthew on his new bike.

{you love riding your bike everyday}

 Someone got a new bike for his Birthday.....and he loved it!
He rode everywhere he could. He rode  to school one day and was really upset at the end of the day when he came out to find it missing from the bike rack. Luckily he didn't have far to walk home. On our way to the police station to report it missing, we found it whilst crossing the train track under a small bush. Thankfully no damage done and one happy little boy. He was reluctant to ride it to school the next day...but he did!

More stash busting, using up some old papers, very old tags, calendars,  a
my2angels 100%boy flair and some of the fabulous 2Crafty  Chipboard words (you & everyday)

2CraftyChipboard chevrons and a Kaiser craft wooden bike that has been hidden in my stash for quite awhile.......I am seeing lots of bikes around  at the moment...perhaps the "in thing" so though it was time to dig it out and use it!

If you are here again thank you so, so much, I really appreciate that you take the time to stop by and leave such lovely comments.
If you are here for the first time  I would love for you to become a follower of my blog...its easy to do. Look on the right hand side column at the top and follow the link.

Enjoy your week. I hope you find some time to create!

Kraft + - summertime

Hello!!

This is the February Kraft Plus Challenge
"coastal chic"
with a fabulous sketch.

This is my interpretation.
I flipped  the sketch over only because it suited the photo better.

{summertime}
 Using another poor quality (old) photo, but  when I look at it, it bring back such  great memories.
We had such an amazing time at Tumby Bay.
Both Sarah and Matthew spent hours kayaking around the bay....we often went over on  hot summer nights after work  for a swim, kayak and a picnic tea on the beach.
This photo was taken on a hot balmy night, he had rowed and rowed and was just catching his breath to start rowing again.
Many a good time was had in their  blue kayak.

 A close up shot of the  layers and 2Crafty Chipboard Pieces.
I love these months of the year words.

 More layers and more of my favourite 2Crafty Chippie pieces, Frames, words, seagulls.
Lots of bits and pieces from my stash once again.

Thanks for stopping by.

D-lish Scraps - sweet

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Look at this amazing Mood Board, Colour Combo and Sketch.
Its the February Challenge at D-lish Scraps

 Here is what I made using both the sketch and the fresh cut colour combo.

{sweet}

Having a stunning, gorgeous, beautiful, spectacular or magnificent photo to add to your creations can make a page really  stand out.
I started scrapbooking when my children were much older so I don't always have the perfect photo,  most of my photos are just point and shoot...and hope for the best. :)
I don't think it is important to always have that perfect photo though after all to me scrapbooking is about the memory a photo provokes.
Sarah was given this magic garden for her birthday by a friend....together we set it up and she watered it and watched  it grow with much excitement  until it had all bloomed....it took about a week I think to fully bloom,  it really was magic how it all grew.
The photo is poor quality but I  love the  big smile on her little face and I wanted to scrap it for her.
Isn't she gorgeous though!

A close up showing some of the 2Crafty Chipboard pieces and Flowers.

More of the 2 Crafty Chipboard pieces from my stash.
 Heat embossed and coloured with versa colour ink.
Using up old papers, flowers, embossing powders, and bits and pieces from my stash.
I read a post today asking the question
- Do you have more papers than you will ever use?...My answer - YES.

Thank you so much for stopping by and for your beautiful comments.
I am enjoying playing along with the challenges and appreciate all the hard work that the challenge owners do to inspire us to have some fun..
